Childhood Vignette

ITALIA!!!!!

When I arrived at that airport, I got chills up and down my back. I felt a certain happiness that I had never felt before. After 3 years of not being able to see my cousins, aunt, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and friends I finally got the opportunity to do that. I had arrived after 12 hours of flight; I had to go over the Atlantic Ocean alone and at night made me scared. Fortunately I had my friend the TV to keep me company. I flew alone with no parents or friends, alone to Italy I went. I had a nice hostess escort me from the LAX airport to Zurich, Switzerland. Then I switched and had a man from Zurich to Milan, Italy.

When I saw my favorite aunt Kika with my cousin Matteo and there dog Gino I felt so so good to see them after so long.  I had 2 months of fun waiting in front of me in Italy.  The first thing I did was throw my luggage in the car and went home to watch the semi-finals of the 2006 world cup. They played 118 minutes without one goal scored. 2 of the of worlds top goalies played in that match, Buffon from Italia, and Liegeman from Germany. Finally the moment came Grosso with an amazing curving ball that went into the back of the net, and 1 minute after a scorching shot by Del Piero that went past the goalie. Two goals in two minutes and the German team and fans cried from that point on. Those goals sent us to Berlin to play against France for the game of our life.

I cried I was so glad I ever felt this feeling ever in my life, a feeling of  “Thank God we won”, of ”do I believe what I just saw, please pinch me to tell me I’m not dreaming”, “WooHoo”.

I am Poem

WHO I AM

By: Alberto Ceresoli/bears

I am a devoted soccer player

I wonder where my life will take me

I hear the odds of going professional are slim to none

I see that in life there is no turning back

I want to achieve my goals

I am a devoted soccer player

I pretend that maybe some day maybe I will go pro

I feel the grass stroke up onto my cleats

I touch the soccer post

I worry about nothing because life is one

I cry

I am a devoted soccer player

I understand that people tell me to just give it up you will never make it, but I carry on doing what I love

I say maybe just one day I will be one of the great

I dream about my future

I try to fulfill my dreams

I try to pleas people with my actions

I hope to play pro

I am a devoted soccer player

What's in my Name

Names

My last name is Ceresoli. But the origin of my name doesn’t come from Italy. It comes from a conqueror by the last name of Del Ceres. My distant ancestors lived in a very small village, and one day this conquer came to try and conquer ancient Rome. Well, my origin comes from the north of Italy, which was one of the first places hit. The old conqueror never was successful, except in my old village up in the mountains took the name of Del Ceres. This name was passed on to me through time.

My first name, Alberto, on the other hand, comes from my grandfather from my mother’s side of the family. His name was Alberto, also. He unfortunately died at 44 from lung cancer; he smoked a lot in his life time.  He died when my mother was only 11. He was a very honored man. He was noble and a very proper and nice person to be around. My mother passed me his name to carry with pride.

8th Grade Trip

We all arrived together as 100 kids. We came up with 2 charter buses. We watched movies and talked on the way up to Pale Mountain. We all were expecting that the snow was going to be really fun, but some of us found out that the San Diego sunny weather is WAY better! The food up there was really good and the cabins were heated so it was nice and warm when we arrived. We all seemed to have a good time for at least the first day but then people discovered that the snow is really really cold. I think that people were more concerned on the way they looked, rather than staying warm. And I unfortunately was one of these people. I came up with warm clothes but not warm enough. My feet were freezing up there I couldn’t feel my toes, nor could I feel my nose. Overall it was a great way to get to know your classmates better, and to get a real understanding on who are really your friends.

Resilience Essay

Thank You

Goals Within Each Other

By: Alberto Ceresoli/Bears

Neither ever lost hope or gave it up. They both had to go through their hard times, but got stronger by being in those hardships. Neither looked back and regretted anything because everything happened for the better.

Kaka was a man who did not have power, nor did he have fame or riches. He was a man with a great destiny, a huge heart and power that his family provided with, every step in growth. They were behind him in every decision. At only 8 years old, he was playing with Sao Paulo. Then by age 15, he signed a full contract and was the spotlight of the team. He then moved to Italy to play with big European giants Ac Milan. Where he started with his other Brazilian friends Dida, Cafu, Serginiho, Ronaldo, and a new piece of the puzzle, the young 18-year-old Pato. But after only one year with the giants, he had a life and career threatening fracture to the 6th vertebra. What had happened is that he was running on the edge of a pool and as silly as it sounds he slipped and fractures his vertebra. He had a very slim chance of being able to play soccer again, so he turned to religion. He said: “As soon as I recover I would love to play for a big European team.”  He was able to recover and now he thanks god and we thank god for his talent.

Stefano Ceresoli was a man with a goal, a goal to move away from the past and begin a new future some place else. Roberta Ruffini was a woman with the same idea and a huge love for Stefano. They left from Italy to move to San Diego to own their own business. My dad always says: “ That if things don’t go how you plan then work harder to make them work.” They moved to the US because my mother Roberta Ruffini fell in love with the temperature and landscape that San Diego had.

Kaka and my parents are alike in many little ways, but there is one that really stands out from the other. Yes, you could relate them together because both my dad and Kaka played professional soccer or you could relate them because they both lived in Italy. But neither of those is what I really connect them. The true thing that ties them together is that both had to make a big decision, which determines where they ended up today. But not only that they both moved to an other part of the world to pursue their destiny. Kaka moved to Italy to move his career on. My parents moved to the US to own a restaurant and start a family. I use these people as role models and guidelines to pursue my destiny and career hopefully in sports. They never gave up so neither will I. When it comes time for me to make a life-changing decision, I will be ready.

I will use these people that I have grown up around and adoring to help me throughout my hard times. They will help me because I know they made the right decision and never looked back.  They will help me hopefully pursue a career into sports and maybe even soccer

Everything about the Trial

The trial was long and I heard many people's claims. There were many strengths I had in the trail such as: I wrote 8 pages of notes, listened to all the claims the attorneys had to say. Some challenges were to keep focused. The work I did was 8 pages of notes, made the "lord of the flies" and made a good character that wasn't judge mental. I was a good worker during the project and worked in a group well. I think I deserve an A for the hard work I did.
